About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Detroit Lakes, MN, is seeking a Manufacturing Forecasting Manager to strengthen its supply chain operations.
This role has a strong focus on forecasting and inventory management, with oversight of an established purchasing team. The ideal candidate will bring structure, accountability, and continuous improvement to inventory processes while taking ownership of forecasting and helping align purchasing and production with customer demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and improve short-, mid-, and long-term demand forecasting

  • Lead the S&OP/IBP process and translate forecasts into production and capacity plans

  • Strengthen inventory controls, accountability, accuracy, and cycle-count processes

  • Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities to reduce excess inventory and shortages

  • Oversee the purchasing function, including an established Purchasing Supervisor and Buyer team

  • Partner with sales, operations, finance, and purchasing to align supply with customer and business needs

  • Use ERP/MRP systems and data to drive planning and decision-making

  • Develop and monitor KPIs including forecast accuracy, service levels, and inventory turns

  • Identify supply chain risks and implement strategies to improve performance

  • Lead, coach, and develop assigned team members

  • Champion Lean and continuous-improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, or a related field

  • Strong experience with forecasting and inventory management

  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and supply chain planning tools

  • Experience with S&OP, IBP, production planning, or capacity planning

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Ability to establish structure, improve processes, and drive accountability

  • Strong cross-functional communication and leadership skills

  • A hands-on, continuous-improvement mindset

Compensation & Schedule
The salary range is $86,000–$98,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
The standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Weekend work is not routinely required, although occasional Friday/Saturday/Sunday hours may be needed for physical inventory.
