Assembly Operator I
Position Type: Temporary-to-Hire
Location: Fairview, NC
Pay Rate: $19.37 per hour
Schedule:
- Training: 1st shift, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. for approximately 6–8 weeks
- Regular Shift: 2nd shift, 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.
- Overtime may be required based on production needs.
Job Summary
Kelly Services ins hiring an temp to hire Assembly Operator I performs component assembly for aerospace relays and switches. This position may involve using microscopes, small hand tools, fixtures, measuring devices, and written work instructions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, willing to learn, works well in a team environment, and is committed to producing high-quality parts.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Inspect completed work using quality standards and documented procedures.
- Conduct pull tests when required for specific operations.
- Measure components using calipers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.
- Inspect products against prints and specifications.
- Complete required production paperwork to maintain product traceability.
- Troubleshoot equipment and perform minor repairs when authorized.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company, department, safety, and environmental health procedures.
- Operate machinery and move between designated work areas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least one year of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions in English.
- Ability to interpret product drawings or blueprints preferred.
- Experience using calipers, gauges, or other measuring devices preferred.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet production goals.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for approximately 75% of the workday.
- Ability to operate manufacturing machinery.
- Ability to move between work zones.
- Ability to use small hand tools and perform detailed assembly work, including tasks that may require a microscope.
