Kelly Services is hiring a Temporary Manager Operator II for a client.
Pay: $17.00 per hour
1st Shift, Monday–Friday. Hours:5:30 a.m. – 1:48 p.m
Contract
Location: Fort. Morgan, IA
Job Summary
The Material Handler/General Laborer performs a variety of production, packaging, material-handling, and housekeeping duties. Responsibilities include basic can-tapping, restacking pallets by hand, checking product codes, preparing materials for production, packing finished products, and maintaining a safe, clean work area.
This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds repetitively.
Essential Job Functions
- Work scheduled shifts and required overtime.
- Maintain regular attendance to support production needs.
- Follow written and verbal instructions.
- Use or learn to use production equipment and hand tools.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Follow all safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and quality requirements.
Job Duties
- Perform basic overhaul tasks, including tapping the tops of cans, checking product codes, and restacking pallets by hand.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment and safety gear.
- Complete safety checks before operating or working around equipment.
- Feed production equipment and position ingredients and materials at workstations.
- Open and dump ingredient bags as needed.
- Fill nesting trays, hoppers, and carton magazines.
- Assemble cases and monitor casers, sealers, and caps.
- Place ingredients or products manually onto trays or conveyor lines.
- Pack finished cartons into cases.
- Position empty pallets and hand-stack finished cases.
- Push completed cases to the case sealer or designated staging area.
- Keep work areas clear, organized, and free of hazards.
- Re-seal and store unused components and packaging materials.
- Break down boxes and dispose of trash in the appropriate receptacles.
- Clean tools, equipment, and work areas as required.
- Participate in daily pre-shift meetings, safety meetings, and other required meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of GMPs and workplace safety.
- Understanding of product damage and loss prevention.
- Familiarity with 5S workplace organization principles.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and production instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift throughout the shift.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
