Human Resources Manager

At Kelly®, we’re seeking an experienced, bilingual English/Spanish Human Resources Manager for a direct-hire opportunity supporting two manufacturing plants in Bedford Park, Illinois.

This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. You’ll partner closely with plant leaders, coach supervisors, and guide the local HR team through employee relations challenges, workforce planning, and ongoing organizational change. This role is suited to an experienced HR Manager—not someone seeking their first HR Manager position—and offers the opportunity to grow toward a Senior Manager or Director role.

Compensation: $100,000 – 130,000 base salary, plus potential annual bonus of up to 10% based on business and individual performance
Employment type: Direct hire
Location: Bedford Park, IL; supports two nearby plants with approximately 590 employees combined

What you’ll do

  • Serve as a strategic and hands-on HR partner to plant leadership in a large-scale manufacturing setting.

  • Coach and support supervisors on employee relations, conflict resolution, performance concerns, and day-to-day people matters.

  • Help address ongoing employee relations issues and strengthen supervisors’ ability to resolve concerns effectively.

  • Lead workforce planning, retention strategies, talent management, and succession planning.

  • Support talent acquisition strategies, training, onboarding, and leadership development in partnership with the local HR team.

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and build a more proactive, strategic HR function.

  • Guide leaders and employees through organizational change and support a collaborative, resilient workplace culture.

  • Work with corporate HR partners and colleagues at other locations on shared programs and resources.

  • Lead a local HR team that includes two HR Generalists, with responsibilities spanning payroll and attendance, onboarding, and new-hire support.

What you’ll bring

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are required.

  • Significant HR experience in large-scale manufacturing.

  • Previous HR Manager experience; this is not an entry-level HR leadership role.

  • Strong employee relations, conflict resolution, and supervisor coaching skills.

  • Experience with workforce planning, retention, talent development, and succession planning.

  • A collaborative, adaptable approach and the resilience to work through competing priorities and change.

  • Interest in continued career growth, with potential to develop toward a Senior Manager or Director position.

Schedule and benefits

The plants operate 24/7 across multiple shifts. This role requires schedule flexibility and a regular presence in the facilities; the workweek may average around 50 hours, including occasional on-call support. Weekend work is not typically expected unless an issue arises.

The benefits package includes a 401(k) with company match, medical, dental and vision coverage, FSA and HSA options, paid vacation and sick time, paid holidays, paid parental leave, and a wellness program. PTO is typically two weeks, with flexibility for up to three weeks.
