  • Perform paraffin and frozen sectioning, along with routine and special staining.

  • Operate and maintain in vivo imaging systems, including small-animal microCT, MRI, PET/SPECT/CT, and optical imaging platforms.

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies for imaging and histology procedures.

  • Handle, anesthetize, position, and monitor live mice and rats during imaging sessions in accordance with approved animal use protocols.

  • Maintain accurate records of experimental data, observations, and procedures.

  • Collaborate with senior research staff to troubleshoot technical issues and improve experimental protocols.

  • Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

  • Assist with developing and optimizing imaging and histology techniques.

  • Process and organize imaging data and support image analysis and documentation for publications and grant reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Hands-on experience with histology techniques, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.

  • Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping skills.

  • Ability to follow protocols and work efficiently in a laboratory setting.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, including the ability to work with a diverse research team.

  • Willingness to learn and contribute to the success of the team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Histotechnologist (HTL) certification.

  • Experience handling laboratory mice or rats.

  • Familiarity with IACUC protocols and animal use requirements.

  • Familiarity with in vivo imaging systems or image analysis software; training will be provided.

  • Previous experience in a research or laboratory setting.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work with laboratory equipment for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed for laboratory tasks.
