Quality Assurance (QA) Technician – Production (2nd Shift)

Location: Durham NC
Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday – Friday 2pm-10:30pm
Employment Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire 
Pay: $19-$23/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to support our production team by performing in-process quality inspections and verifying that products meet established quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level quality professional or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and has a strong attention to detail. Previous quality or laboratory experience is helpful but not required, as training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process quality inspections during production.

  • Verify products meet established quality standards and specifications.

  • Document inspection results accurately and completely.

  • Identify and report quality concerns to production leadership.

  • Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), where applicable.

  • Assist with maintaining quality records and production documentation.

  • Work closely with Production and Quality teams to support daily operations.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.

  • Basic computer and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to work on a 2nd shift schedule.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, manufacturing, or laboratory environments.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.

  • BioWork Certification.

  • Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or quality.
