Location: Frederick, MD
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 40 hours/week
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $40–$50/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Cell Therapy Research Scientist / Senior Scientist to join an innovative and collaborative Discovery team focused on developing next-generation cell-based therapies for autoimmune diseases. This role will support preclinical in vitro and in vivo evaluation of ex vivo and in vivo therapy candidates while contributing to a variety of research and operational activities. Leveling will be based on experience and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute preclinical in vitro and in vivo studies supporting cell therapy development programs.

  • Perform aseptic cell culture and primary cell isolation techniques.

  • Conduct flow cytometry, ELISA, luminometric and colorimetric assays, and related analytical methods.

  • Support animal model establishment, handling, and IVIS imaging activities.

  • Maintain accurate, organized, and timely experimental documentation and records.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with research teams to support project goals and timelines.

  • Assist with additional laboratory and operational tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in cell therapy or related preclinical research workflows.

  • Strong technical proficiency in:

    • Aseptic cell culture

    • Primary cell isolation

    • Flow cytometry

    • ELISA and plate-based assays

    • In vivo model handling and IVIS imaging


  • Experience with LNP formulation, QC, and preclinical studies strongly preferred.

  • Experience with mRNA IVT, QC, optimization, and application preferred.

  • Knowledge of mRNA therapeutics and CAR or related cell therapy platforms preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
