Kelly is currently recruiting candidates for a RD&A Technician for one of our premiere clients in Beloit, WI. 

Position Classification  

  • Temp to Hire

  • Pay Rate: $18.43 – $25.43 depending on experience.

  • Shift/Hours: 1st shift / 8am – 5pm / Mon – Fri             

Responsibilities

  • Assist scientists with weighing up ingredients for lab testing and pilot plant production.

  • Assist scientists with making formulas in the lab.

  • Support pilot plant production runs on a variety of processing equipment.

    • Spray drying

    • HTST and dairy processing equipment

    • Dry blending


  • Support daily lab activities such as pH probe calibration, dishwasher startup/shut down, and freezer startup/shut down.

  • Maintain lab common stock ingredients inventory.

  • Support general lab organization by:

    • Ordering lab supplies, sample storage and shipping materials, etc.

    • Organizing lab, cooler, and freezer cleanouts

    • Putting away dishes


  • Ability to learn and run specialized lab equipment: Brookfield viscometer, Bostwick, pH probe, homogenizer.

  • Submit analytical requests for product testing.

General Skills

  • Accurately weigh ingredients.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Self-motivated with good time management

  • Good communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to taste and smell chemicals, flavors, and food products.

  • Science background or experience in food, laboratory, or similar environment is a bonus.

  • Science degree is a plus. High School is required.

  • Experience working with food and understanding food safety.
