Laboratory Operations Supervisor – Valdez, AK
Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Laboratory Operations Supervisor. This role involves overseeing day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in all processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with management, lead a team of 6 laboratory technicians, and maintain communication with clients to meet their needs effectively.
Details:
Pay range: $90k+ yearly; DOE
Shift: Flexible full-time schedule with additional OT as needed
Duration: Direct-hire permanent position
Location: Valdez, AK
Relocation assistance provided
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, communicating required corrective actions to management.
- Maintain communication with clients and management regarding sample status.
- Oversee shipping, receiving, sample retention, and disposal activities.
- Provide objective input for crew members’ development and assist in their training.
- Ensure the availability of adequate equipment and staff for all tasks.
- Collaborate with the lab manager to manage employee performance and maintain an effective work group.
- Seek new business opportunities and represent positively to clients.
- Perform other duties as required in alignment with company policies and standards.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a petroleum laboratory.
- Competency in routine operation of a petroleum testing laboratory.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing staff to achieve quality, safety, and financial goals.
- Knowledge and experience with ICP/ICPMS and GC/GCMS.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage long hours, and interact effectively with diverse personalities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Effective communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
- Customer-focused and quality-driven mindset.
