Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Molecular Biology Scientist for a contract role at one of our Global clients in South San Francisco, CA. This site is BYOD.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead from the bench in the design and manufacture of novel CAR constructs discovered using the company’s high-throughput platform Independently execute and troubleshoot molecular biology projects to support the laboratory team Introduce techniques and protocols to enable library assembly and implement quality control metrics to enhance reproducibility.

  • Work closely with team members to understand details of ongoing gene editing and cell engineering projects

  • Maintain excellent electronic lab notebook records of protocols and experimental details

  • Collaborate with software engineers to develop the design and analysis methodologies and pipeline

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biotechnology, or related area

    • BSc. with 5 years of experience, or MSc. with 3 years of experience


  • Working experience with molecular cloning techniques such as golden gate and Gibson assembly, plasmid DNA preparation, DNA/RNA extraction, cell transfection, viral QC REQUIRED

  • Hands-on experience with next gen sequencing library preparation and execution including single cell sequencing, and oxford nanopore.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot experiments in real time.

  • Experience in high-throughput protein engineering approaches is a plus

  • Strong communication skills with proven experience in collaborating across disciplines

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines

  • Comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
