Kelly Services is seeking an Infrastructure Desktop Technician for one of our top clients.

Length: 1 Year
Type: Contract W2
Pay Rate: $32.00/hr. (W2)
Schedule: Standard
Interview Process: Virtual or Onsite

Overview:

Provide base support (Primarily Domain, secondarily Server, and tertiary Network) for a non-standard lab Research Network (Windows XP-10; Windows Server 2012-2019).  Consult with Engineers, Scientists, Lab Technicians and external partners to meet business Computing requirements for laboratory research operations. The Clinton LabLAN is a key enabler for the organization. The Lab LAN is a critical component that enables the capture and analysis of data, owned and funded by the company. Working on this team provides a great opportunity to gain technical depth across major IT segments (Desktop, Servers, Network and Domain Administration)
           
Responsibilities

Infrastructure support (Level 1-3):

  • Comprehensive support of workstations, servers, lab instruments, peripherals and software

  • Install, Support, Maintain Lab and Office PCs on our domain

  • Handle new software requests and installs

  • Update/ Maintain Inventory on PCs/Laptops

  • Resolve Service Now tasks in a timely manner

  • Install/Update/Repair Anti-Virus (SEP/S1)

  • Image Deployment for Desktops/Laptops

  • Backup PC Systems using Ghost/Acronis

  • Install Critical and Security Microsoft Updates on a quarterly/monthly basis

  • Pickup, Transport and Decommission degraded equipment

  • Troubleshoot/Repair PC Hardware equipment failures

  • Move Computer equipment to new office/lab locations

  • Assign and Configure static IP addresses for L3 Systems

  • Support network equipment and technologies (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Cabling)

  • Find network ports and configure VLAN for port configuration

  • Assign and Configure static IP addresses for PC’s and Servers

  • Test cabling

  • Configure available IP on Equipment

  • Configure VLAN on network switches

  • Cisco Switch Support

  • Build/Program new/replacement Switches

  • Configure VLAN switch ports on Cisco Switches

  • Replace/Upgrade Cisco Switches during Outage

  • Rewire LAN Closet(s) as required

Infrastructure administration tasks:

  • Active Directory, and group policies

  • Inventory management system

  • Data backup System

  • Security patch management

  • Webcat Safety Training

  • Provide IT consultation for business users in conjunction with external partners

  • Observe company safety & security guidelines

  • Document all processes and procedures as needed and share findings with peers

  • Work with external vendors as required to resolve issues, test solutions, and implement fixes

  • Support of IT Audit & Cybersecurity activities
