Overview

The candidate for this position will be responsible for leading technical aspects associated with the smooth transfer of new products/technologies and equipment. Works closely with R&I product development scientist to understand formulations, raw material functions and their interactions, to enable successful process development and scale-up from Lab to Pilot to Production. Oversee the development of detailed manufacturing documents to move products from R&D to commercialization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Use technical knowledge to appropriately select equipment, handle and process raw materials and design experiments for the smooth transference of technology from the laboratory to pilot, and finally to full-scale production.

  • Prepare manufacturing batch records (MBR) following good manufacturing practice for laboratory, pilot and commercial scale batches.

  • Work closely with R&D Scientists at prototype development stage to understand lab process, raw material functions and formula technologies to enable successful scale up.

  • Manage all aspects of equipment, facilities, and utilities qualification activities (write, execute, and prepare Installation, Operational and Performance (IQ/OQ/PQ) Protocols and corresponding summary reports) for new and/or existing equipment.

  • Write and execute process validation protocols for the introduction of new products, as well as, for changes in manufacturing processes of existing products.

  • Work closely with the R&I Scientists to investigate and troubleshoot production process situations and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Related Field. (Chemical Engineering Preferred.)

  • Three years of experience within the pharmaceutical or cosmetics industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Preferible with experience within the R&D environment
