Analytical Chemist (Graveyard Shift) – Albany, OR
Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $23/hr-$28/hr
Shift: 4×10 or 5×8 11p-7a Fri-Mon (flexible)
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to Daily Management Board communication and information-sharing initiatives.
- Uphold Safety as a core value through routine safety protocols and hazard mitigations.
- Assess and prioritize incoming samples.
- Execute routine preventive maintenance tasks on instruments.
- Coordinate with laboratory procurement representatives to uphold critical inventory levels.
- Engage in daily problem-solving activities and participate in formal root cause analysis events as part of a team.
- Process analytical data for entry into the LIMS database.
- Participate in continuous improvement endeavors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related scientific field, along with a minimum of one year of laboratory experience.
- Alternatively, a 2-year degree coupled with at least 2 years of laboratory experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective technical and non-technical discourse.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and accountable individual.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is advantageous
Preferred
- Preferred minimum of two years of laboratory experience, with expertise in operating ICP-OES and ICP-MS instruments.
- Prior exposure to the metals industry is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
