Inventory Worker – Material Handler
A Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials and products within a warehouse, manufacturing facility, or distribution center. They load and unload shipments, organize inventory, and ensure materials are delivered to the correct location. They also operate machinery like forklifts and pallet jacks, maintain accurate records, and adhere to safety guidelines. MUST have prior warehouse experience, including stocking, order fill, and cycle count.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Identifying, labeling, and recording the location of materials in inventory.
- Material Movement: Moving materials within the warehouse or facility, using various equipment.
- Order Fulfillment: Picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment.
- Equipment Operation: Operating material handling equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of material movements and inventory transactions.
- Safety: Adhering to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Cycle Counts: Performing cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Keeping the work area clean and organized.
- Loading and Unloading: Loading and unloading materials and products from trucks, trailers, and other vehicles.
Required Skills:
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be ITAR compliant
Pay rate is $16.00 and hours are Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm with the possibility of overtime during week and on weekends.
