This is a clinical support position that is a direct service provider assigned to a caseload of children or hours in a location based on predetermined need by the school district, program or center the provider is assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities: Please note that the frequency of these activities and the amount of time spent on these duties and responsibilities may vary based upon location and volume of activity.

Clinical/Educational

  • Implement individual and classroom-based behavioral programming, at the direction of supervising case manager(s) and classroom teacher(s)

  • Provide feedback to supervising case managers on strategies, changes in student behavior needs and supports needed for student and team member success

  • Maintain consistent attendance and communicate changes in availability (short term or long term) as soon as possible

  • Implement challenging behavior intervention strategies (including crisis intervention, as trained and required) for students with escalated challenging behaviors (e.g., aggression, elopement, property destruction, demand avoidance, etc.)

  • Follow all Kelly Pediatric Therapy and school-district policies related to attendance, student interactions, credential and clearance maintenance, documentation & reporting, etc.

  • Record relevant intervention data for assigned students

  • Provide assistance to students to effectively and independently participate in classroom and building activities

  • Demonstrate sound judgement, critical thinking, decision making, and effective time management skills

  • Other duties as assigned and mutually agreed upon in writing by the school district or program and Kelly Pediatric Therapy

Qualifications:           

  • High school diploma ·

  • Registered Behavior Technician certification, in good standing (active or voluntarily inactive)

  • State Paraeducator certificate (where necessary)

  • Experience working / volunteering with children, preferably children with disabilities

  • Experience working with high intensity aggressive behaviors; crisis intervention training a plus

  • Subject to state & federal background checks & clearances, drug test, and physical, as required by each district
