Job Title: Machine Operator/Vacuum Chamber Operator

Location: South Windsor, CT
Pay: 20/hr – weekly pay
Schedule: Monday -Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Position Summary

We are a leading aluminum coating provider serving the aerospace, defense, and energy industries, is seeking a Machine Operator/ Vacuum Chamber Operator. This role is responsible for inspecting, preparing, and coating parts using vacuum chamber equipment to meet precise customer specifications and internal quality standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts before and after coating to ensure compliance with specifications and uniform coverage

  • Hang, mask, and prepare parts for the coating process

  • Operate and monitor vacuum chamber equipment to apply aluminum coatings

  • Follow customer specifications and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Review and execute job instructions outlined on job cards

  • Perform dimensional measurements and verify coating thickness

  • Coat test samples and coordinate with Lab and Quality departments for validation

  • Accurately complete all required documentation (routers, inspection records, etc.)

  • Report acceptance or rejection of coated parts

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

  • Assist with daily maintenance and periodic cleaning of vacuum chambers

  • Follow all company safety policies and wear required protective equipment

  • Communicate effectively in a team-oriented, diverse work environment

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Fast-paced, team-oriented production environment

  • Regular attendance and punctuality required

  • May require nights, limited weekends, variable schedules, and overtime

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, reach, stoop, and kneel

  • Ability to regularly lift 10 lbs. or more

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English

  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel)

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience with measuring tools and test equipment preferred
