Accounts Payable Specialist – 6+ Month Contract
Location: Duluth, MN (100% Onsite)
Pay Rate: $24/hour
Duration: 6-month contract

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm
 


We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support a fast-paced team in Duluth, MN. This role operates in a high-volume environment focused on invoice processing and reconciliation, with an immediate need for someone who can step in, stay organized, and assist in reducing backlog.

This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with strong AP experience, solid Excel skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
 


Key Responsibilities

  • Process high volumes of invoices

  • Perform 3-way matching (PO and non-PO invoices; approx. 60/40 split)

  • Review invoices for accuracy, approvals, and proper documentation

  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies

  • Reconcile vendor statements and correct variances

  • Assist with wire transfers and payment processing

  • Support weekly check runs

  • Communicate with vendors and internal teams (including supply chain)

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely processing

 


Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a high-volume setting

  • Strong background in invoice processing, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution

  • Experience with 3-way matching

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Avante or AS400 experience is a plus)

  • Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUPs required)

  • Comfortable making vendor calls and following up on outstanding items
