Job details

We are seeking an Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of precision electromechanical systems and medical device components. This role will focus on mechanical design, enclosure development, fixture design, microcontroller-integrated assembly design, and product validation, with strong emphasis on manufacturability, performance, reliability, and aesthetics.
 


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electro-mechanical device components, fixtures, tooling, and stamped parts to support product development and manufacturing processes

  • Develop device housings, enclosures, shells, and aesthetic mechanical components for microcontroller-integrated systems

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and production teams to ensure DFM / DFA best practices are implemented

  • Perform thermal, CFD, and simulation analysis to evaluate product performance, heat dissipation, airflow, and system efficiency

  • Support prototype development, testing, verification, and validation activities

  • Conduct costing analysis and process optimization for new and existing products

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and manufacturing issues on the production floor and implement corrective actions

  • Support compliance with medical device regulatory and quality standards

  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams through product development from concept through production

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in electro-mechanical design and product development

  • Experience in any regulated environment such as aerospace, defense or med device desired.

  • Hands-on experience with fixture design, tooling, and manufacturing support

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drawing creation

  • Experience with prototype testing and validation

  • Strong knowledge of DFM / DFA principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SimCenter, CFD, FEA, or similar simulation tools

  • Knowledge of microcontroller packaging and enclosure design

  • Familiarity with thermal management and electromechanical system integration
