Job Title:
Service Dispatcher / Customer Service – Commercial Laundry Equipment
Pay rate: $24/HR
Monday – Friday 8AM- 5PM
Summary:
The Service Dispatcher is integral to coordinating and facilitating the Service Team’s routes and schedules. This position will organize and communicate all details related to customer orders for service requests on Commercial Laundry Equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and top-tier customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all schedules, routes, and resources of the Service Team
- Assign, dispatch, and allocate appropriate field personnel to different projects (sometimes across multiple states)
- Coordinate with field technicians to ensure they have all necessary equipment, parts, and information for efficient service calls
- Track job, field personnel, and backlog status using the Service Tracker
- Maintain comprehensive records of work performed (dispatch logs, service orders, repair orders, etc.)
- Monitor technician progress, providing support to resolve issues or challenges during service calls
- Serve as a customer support expert, communicating with clients to confirm service scheduling and document final dates
- Coordinate client on-site points of contact to ensure efficiency and safety
- Prioritize and escalate urgent service requests to meet customer needs and service level agreements
- Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and updating customer records
- Collaborate with other departments (sales, parts, operations) to ensure seamless service coordination and optimize satisfaction
- Enter customer information into logging systems (SAP, Salesforce, Field Service or similar)
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of dispatching or scheduling experience preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience considered
- Customer support experience via phone/email/ticketing system preferred
- Working knowledge of management software (QuickBooks, SAP) strongly preferred
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
Skills and Abilities:
- Technical acumen with the ability to read/understand shipping documents and safety guidelines
- Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented with ability to self-manage workload and multiple projects
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication across all organizational levels
- Strong work ethic and proactive approach
- Resilient and comfortable navigating ambiguity or change
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods, stand, stoop, bend, and maintain manual dexterity
- Able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs (assistive devices for greater weight provided)
- Frequent and continuous computer-based work; close vision and focus adjustment required
- Regular use of hands and ability to communicate clearly during job functions
