Job Title: Machine Operator II
Location: South Windsor, CT 06074 United States
Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm – Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: USD 25 - 26/hr
Contract: 1 year
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of manufacturing, plant, or machine operation experience
• Ability to follow written instructions and documented work processes
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with team members
• Basic math skills
• Must complete site-specific safety training
• Some forklift experience preferred
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
• For Carbon operations, ability to complete 40-hour hazardous waste operations training
Responsibilities:
• Perform a series of plant or factory operations under close supervision
• Follow all workplace safety and product quality policies and guidelines
• Monitor equipment throughout the shift to ensure it is operating properly
• Read and follow required work processes and instructions
• Support division performance and meet internal and external customer needs
• Bag products, collect samples, and perform testing as needed
• Manage spent carbon feed to the reactivation furnace
• Switch tank feed from one tank to another
• Calibrate pH probes, operate a filter press, and run the wastewater treatment plant
• Sort bottles by size and resin
• Load and unload deliveries and move materials throughout the facility
• Operate a forklift to move materials and load or unload trucks
• Evacuate bottles and support plant operations as needed
