Kelly, in partnership with a rapidly growing manufacturer, is looking for an Operations Support Manager in Rockford, IL! Our client is looking for a candidate with a heavy CNC background who is comfortable traveling up to 40% of the time domestically and internationally.
This is a permanent opportunity offering unbeatable benefits, vacation, compensation, and 401k!
Details:
- Hours: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday - Friday
- Compensation: $125,000 - $145,000 plus quarterly bonuses
- 401k plus match up to $10,000
- Location: Rockford, IL with domestic and international travel required
**Please note, extensive CNC experience is required**
Job Description:
Operations Leadership & Execution
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a diverse team of 20–30 technical staff (technicians, engineers, support personnel).
- Oversee day-to-day shop floor operations to ensure consistent productivity, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards.
- Provide regular KPI-driven operational performance updates and risk assessments to Senior Operations Management.
- Establish, implement, and enforce best-in-class operational processes aligned with corporate objectives.
- Foster a culture focused on accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Technical Expertise & CNC Support
- Serve as the technical authority on all CNC machine tools for troubleshooting, diagnostics, and advanced operational support.
- Leverage hands-on CNC expertise to guide and mentor team members in complex problem resolution.
- Maintain current knowledge of both legacy and state-of-the-art machine tool systems, including controls and automation.
- Collaborate with Engineering on root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for recurring equipment issues.
Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement
- Identify, analyze, and optimize processes to enhance machine uptime, operational response times, and cost efficiency.
- Act on data-driven insights to implement corrective measures and standardization best practices.
- Lead continuous improvement, waste reduction, and productivity enhancement initiatives.
- Support and drive strategic projects in line with operational excellence and long-term business growth.
Requirements:
- Hands on CNC troubleshooting, advanced diagnostics, setup, and operations experience.
- Expertise of machine tools, industrial equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- 7+ years of experience managing teams of 20 - 30 employees.
- Technical or Bachelors Degree strongly preferred
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time domestically and internationally.
