Job Title: Production Associate
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Shift: Monday – Friday, 4:00 PM - 1:30 AM (Shift schedules may include weekends based on business needs)
Transportation Requirement: Reliable transportation is essential.
Safety Requirements: Steel-toed shoes are required. Composite safety shoe covers may be provided if needed.
Job Summary:
The Production Associate will work under the guidance of supervisors to meet production demands while adhering to quality and safety standards. This role requires self-reliance and the ability to work accurately with limited supervision.
Essential Job Functions:
- Efficiently transfer product between filler and chiller stations.
- Communicate any discrepancies in product information to supervisors or leads.
- Manage the transportation of production carts in and out of chillers, ensuring orderly placement in the Work In Progress (WIP) area.
- Align products correctly on the Garvey table.
- Flip trays in chillers as required.
- Rework products that do not meet specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following the “5S” program.
- Promote a safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere to HACCP principles and Good Manufacturing Practices; comply with food and personal safety procedures, as well as company policies and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including assistance in the Kitchen area as needed.
Competencies:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions; basic mathematical skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, and climbing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Perform tasks while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work effectively in noisy environments.
- Adapt to varying temperature zones, including cold and hot environments for extended periods, and work in areas where dust may be present.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
