Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking an R&D Analytical Chemist for a 6-month contract position at a premier biotech company in Irvine, CA. Pay Rate:  
$40-44/hour

Overview:
In this role, you will work in the laboratory independently designing and conducting analytical chemistry and cell culture experiments, analyzing and presenting data, and collaborating with a supportive team to drive innovative scientific projects and continuous learning in a dynamic R&D environment.

Schedule: 
Monday-Friday, standard working hours
 
Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct laboratory experiments focused on analytical chemistry method development and testing, primarily using LC-MS, ICP-MS, and related instrumentation to support research, product development, and process improvement in cell culture media.

  • Analyze experimental data and prepare formal reports and presentations, sharing insights and results with cross-functional project teams while documenting all procedures and findings accurately.

  • Collaborate closely with a team of 5-6 scientists, actively participating in group meetings, receiving mentorship from senior scientists, and contributing to a collaborative, growth-focused lab environment.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in laboratory skills and safety, including performing various chemical and biological assays, operating analytical and basic laboratory equipment, and adhering to general laboratory procedures (GMP/GLP).

  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development by participating in training, staying updated with technical publications, applying project management, and utilizing productivity and data analysis software (with Python or R being a plus).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.

  • 1-3 years of experience with analytical method development, specifically with LC-MS and ICP-MS.

  • Familiarity with lab safety protocols, GMP/GLP guidelines, and ability to follow standard operating procedures and company policies.

  • Python or R programming skills are a plus.
