Job Title: Assembly Specialist
Location: Grayslake, IL 60030
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: 1st Shift – 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire (opportunity for full-time based on performance)
Position Summary
The Assembler is responsible for assembling products to meet the needs of both internal and external customers. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to maintaining quality and productivity standards in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble parts according to instructions provided by the Cell Lead
- Monitor production equipment to ensure proper operation
- Read and interpret bills of materials (BOM) and blueprints/drawings
- Report any discrepancies in drawings or BOM to the Cell Lead
- Maintain productivity levels that meet or exceed company standards
- Operate air and power tools as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
- Collaborate with the Quality Control Department to ensure product quality
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and materials
- Dispose of cardboard and waste materials as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude preferred
- Experience using tools such as rulers, tape measures, and gauges
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
- Frequent walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
