This is a temp-hire position, paying $22.00 – $27.00 per hour, depending on experience on 1st shift.

What’s a typical day as a Test Technician? You’ll be:

  • Performing optical testing accurately and consistently, including measurements of transmission, wavefront error, mechanical fit, and boresight error

  • Executing assembly optimization activities such as mechanical alignment and shim adjustments based on optical test data

  • Applying optical theory and terminology to interpret system performance and test results

  • Identifying and troubleshooting test equipment issues, including alignment and sensor problems

  • Providing feedback to the assembly team to improve build quality and product performance

  • Following work instructions, production schedules, and clean room protocols to support on-time completion of testing activities

  • Diagnosing assembly failures and recommending corrective actions

  • Performing simple assembly functions as needed to support testing and optimization

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, preferably with an optics background; Associate degree in optics or a related technical field also considered

  • Possess 3–5 years of related experience in optical testing, assembly optimization, or precision optical assembly (equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered)

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of optical theories, terminology, and testing methods

  • Are experienced with optical test equipment such as interferometers, spectrophotometers, power meters, and beam profilers or cameras

  • Have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Can communicate effectively with management and engineering teams, and interpret complex technical documentation

  • Are comfortable working in a clean room manufacturing environment and following strict contamination control protocols
