Diesel Mechanic-Direct Hire


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to support a growing operation in Middleborough, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of diesel and non-diesel vehicles and equipment, ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently, and keeping equipment in top condition.


Pay & Schedule

  • Middleborough, MA

  • $30 – $40/hr (based on experience)

  • Afternoon shift starting at 12 noon

  • Overtime available (including occasional nights/weekends)

What You’ll Do

  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including small engine repairs

  • Troubleshoot using computer diagnostics tools

  • Coordinate outsourced repairs with external vendors when needed

  • Maintain accurate repair records, work orders, and purchase orders

  • Ensure all vehicles meet inspection and registration requirements

  • Travel to job sites as needed to perform repairs

  • Communicate effectively with drivers and team members regarding equipment status

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of diesel engine repair experience

  • 3+ years of overall mechanical experience

  • Experience with computer diagnostics (required)

  • Strong understanding of diesel systems and hydraulics

  • Ability to troubleshoot and work independently

  • Valid Driver’s License (required)

  • Strong communication skills

Nice to Have

  • CDL A

  • Experience with electrical systems and air brakes

  • Knowledge of DOT inspections (Level 1)
