Assembler II
Shift:
- 1st shift 6am-6pm (12hr rotating shift 2/2/3)
- Includes Weekend rotation
Pay rate: $23.00-25.00hr
Load, unload, pick and pack orders accurately. Receive, store and distribute material, tools, equipment and products. Must be capable of performing all of the tasks below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving:
- Direct unloading of materials from delivery truck to temporary storing locations for receiving inspection.
- Inspect unloaded materials for integrity in packaging and any shipment monitoring devices such as tip & tell, shock indicator and bring the discrepancy to the delivery driver’s attention and make note on the BOL.
- Tally number of units of material received against the BOL.
- Sign BOL and include any comment and variations found during inspection.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Mark materials with proper identifying information.
- Record amount of materials or items received and put away location.
- Perform quality inspection on items per customer’ requirement.
Shipping:
- Read pick list, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be picked for shipping or assembly.
- Pick orders from stock for shipping or staging in production/assembly/fulfillment line.
- Record amount of material or items picked.
- Use computer to enter records.
- Determines method of shipment.
- Process shipment in warehouse management system.
- Verify, scan and count items picked and ship out of the system.
- Pack items for shipment into appropriate packaging and ensure sufficient protection of the item during transportation.
- Print shipping documents, labels and insert shipping documents according to customer’s requirement and industry practices.
- Apply appropriate warning/attention/information labels to the outside of the package
- Follow customer routing guide to package and/or sort and build pallet load to same delivery destination.
- Operate lift truck or other warehouse equipment to move, convey, or hoist to move items within the warehouse.
- Load material onto truck.
- Coordinate freight carrier according to customer’s routing guide or if not specified, use clients standard routing.
- Coordinate and make local deliveries of Installation Material as required.
Physical Demands
- Frequently lift, carry, and move materials or products.
- Prolonged standing (often 8–12 hours per shift).
- Frequent walking throughout the warehouse, including climbing stairs or ladders.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Move carts, pallet jacks, or materials requiring push/pull strength.
Frequent use of hands, wrists, and arms for tasks like:
- Scanning, labeling, packing, or assembling.
- Operating warehouse equipment as required.
Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in a safe manner
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
Education and Experience Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment performing receiving and shipping functions.
- Fork lift experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Trained in safety of lifting, handling, and transporting of materials with various shape, size and weight.
