Accounting Specialist (Part-Time, Temp-to-Perm)
Location: Oakville, ON
Schedule: 25 hours per week (flexible across 3–5 days)
Compensation: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour
Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent (with potential to transition into a full-time role)
Overview
Our client, based in Oakville, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Specialist to join their team on a part-time, temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is looking for flexible hours with the potential to grow into a full-time position. This role will support core accounting functions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Process Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) transactions accurately and efficiently
- Perform bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis
- Provide inventory accounting support, including tracking and reconciliation
- Assist with lease-related financials, including depreciation, residuals, and capitalized costs
- Support collections efforts by following up on outstanding payments and maintaining aging reports
- Coordinate with legal partners on unresolved or escalated accounts
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal policies
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to AR/AP and reconciliations
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience with inventory or lease accounting is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Asserti accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
