Position: Indirect Material & Logistics Coordinator – Offshore Wind Service
Job Summary:
The Indirect Material Coordinator is an essential component of the O&M Services
organization, organizing the efficient distribution of indirect (or non-BOM) materials, encompassing
certain chemicals, consumables, and tools to various sites. Beyond ensuring timely deliveries, this role is
key in upholding the compliance standards for tool inspection and calibration. Acting as a vital conduit
between the internal stakeholders and the O&M team, the Indirect Material Coordinator consistently
provides timely updates on planned activities, delivery dates, PO statuses, and promise dates, and managing escalations.
Primary location will be the Vineyard Wind O&M Base on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. However, local travel and support to regional sites may be required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ensure distribution of indirect materials, prioritizing according to site needs and optimizing
distribution.
• Maintain strict compliance standards for inspection and calibration of tools, liaising with quality
assurance teams to ensure every tool meets the set criteria.
• Regularly update internal stakeholders on planned activities, imminent delivery dates, the status
of purchase orders, and promise dates, ensuring transparency and trust.
• Act as the primary point of escalation for any logistical challenges, coordinating with the SCM
team to resolve issues and mitigate potential risks.
• Collaborate closely with suppliers and transport partners to ensure timely delivery of materials
and tools, while also focusing on cost-effective solutions.
• Preparation of shipment documentation such as delivery note, customs documentation (import/export) and liaise with customs agents/brokers globally
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records of chemicals, consumables, and tools, ensuring
they align with real-time stock levels.
• Facilitate periodic reviews with the SCM team, driving continuous improvement in logistics
processes and strategies.
• Follow industry trends, changes in compliance standards, and emerging technologies that could
enhance the efficiency of logistical operations.
• Foster strong relationships with internal customers to understand their needs, address concerns,
and gather feedback for process enhancements.
• Support site in properly placing orders in the correct systems with correct information.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or relevant experience in the sector.
• Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
• Knowledge of compliance standards for tool inspection and calibration.
• Experience or familiarity with international shipping regulations
Language(s):
• English: Fluency in written and oral communication
Technical knowledge and skills
• Proficiency in supply chain and asset management software and tools, ensuring efficient planning
and tracking.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to manage escalations and foster trust among
stakeholders.
• A strategic mindset, constantly looking for opportunities to streamline processes and optimize
overall costs to business.
• Very organized, rigorous, proactive, and oriented to maintain a high level of safety and quality in
the warehouse.
• Ability and willingness to work in a multicultural team environment
