Kelly Services is hiring an Assistant Controller for a manufacturing client in Aylmer, Ontario. This is a permanent, full-time position.

The Assistant Controller is responsible for ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting full-cycle accounting within a manufacturing environment. This role is heavily involved in cost accounting, financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, and internal controls, and requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and consolidate financial statements

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes

  • Maintain and improve internal controls

  • Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting

  • Perform variance and cost analysis

  • Support internal and external financial reporting

  • Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors

  • Track expenses and analyze financial performance

  • Collaborate with multiple departments on financial matters

  • Support and oversee AR, AP, and general accounting functions

Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of general accounting experience within a manufacturing environment is required

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Working towards CPA designation

  • Strong cost accounting experience

  • Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting

  • Experience with financial analysis, variance reporting, and reconciliations

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding environment

Compensation Package:

  • Annual salary: $80,000 – $100,000

  • Performance bonus: 5–10%

  • RRSP matching program and comprehensive benefits starting Day 1

  • 3 weeks’ vacation plus 5 personal days

  • 2-week annual Christmas shutdown

  • Additional benefits include car allowance and company-provided phone
