Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Scientist for a 6-month contract opportunity with a biotechnology client in the Bay Area. Position Type: 6-month contract
Pay rate: $45-65 per hour
Overview
A rapidly growing biotechnology start-up is seeking a highly motivated scientist with advanced degrees (M.S. or Ph.D.) and 1–3 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry. This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals passionate about technology-driven innovation to join a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to advancing human stem cell applications.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in mammalian cell culture, including human and rodent cell lines, stem cells, primary cells, and their various workflows.

  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing reporter assays to industry standards.

  • Proficiency in flow cytometry, cell sorting, quantitative PCR (qPCR), and immunocytochemistry (ICC) techniques.

  • Proven track record developing and executing in vitro cell-based assays across 2D, 3D, spheroid, and organoid models.

  • Meticulous technical writing skills and strong oral communication ability, complemented by excellent organizational acumen.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, innovation-driven start-up environment; exhibits outstanding interpersonal skills and collaborates effectively with scientific and business stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Significant experience with human stem cell research and stem cell culture techniques.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of cell-based assay design and data interpretation.

  • Familiarity with GMP/GLP laboratory practices and quality systems is advantageous.

  • Exposure to cell culture automation technologies is a strong plus.
