Job Title: Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS)
Group: Kelly Pediatric Therapy 
Position reports to (title): Clinical Director
Approved Date: April 2026
Basic FunctionsLicensed behavior specialists are a direct service provider  providing service to assigned children to ensure successful and meaningful participation in academic and community settings. Hours and location is based on predetermined needs of the school district, program, or center the provider is assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities: Please note that the frequency of these activities and the amount of time spent on these duties and responsibilities may vary based upon location and volume of activity.

Clinical/Educational

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) & skill-based assessments

  • Develop relevant behavior intervention plans (BIPs) & treatment plans for the school setting

  • Provide training and ongoing coaching & feedback to plan implementation team, including classroom teachers, aides, BTs / RBTs, etc.

  • Support behavior crisis intervention and troubleshoot across classrooms / buildings, as assigned

  • Participate in IEP meetings as part of interdisciplinary IEP team

  • Serve as MTSS coach to assigned classrooms / buildings within the district

  • Follow all PTS and school-district policies related to attendance, student interactions, credential and clearance maintenance, documentation & reporting, etc.

  • Demonstrate sound judgement, critical thinking, decision making, and effective time management skills

  • Perform other duties, as assigned and mutually agreed upon in writing by the school district or program and Kelly Pediatric Therapy

 

  • Qualifications: List the minimum required education, experience, and skills needed to perform the job.

 

  • Master’s degree in behavior analysis or similar degree program

  • Behavior Specialist license through PA Board of Medicine, in good standing

  • Experience working in school setting a plus

  • Experience working with high intensity aggressive behaviors; crisis intervention training / certification a plus]

  • Subject to state & federal background checks & clearances, drug test, and physical, as required by each district
