We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented contractor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to two exciting capital projects while working alongside experienced professionals. We welcome your unique insights and contributions working in a nationally accredited third-party testing laboratory providing high value testing to a global customer base. This position will manage the day to day schedule and coordinate multiple contracting vendors to build two new test systems that will add significant value to Owens Corning.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
PROJECT MANAGEMENT (75%)
- Manages capital project execution for ASTM E2307 and E119 safely.
- Lives the Owens Corning safety culture every day, working safely while identifying and driving safety in lab processes
- Prepares documentation for contracting vendors participating in ASTM E2307 and E119 capital project in the Fire Research Center
- Execution of capital projects for ASTM E2307 and E119
- Provides feedback on improving ASTM E2307 and E119 buildout scheduling efficiency
- Coordinate quotes and Pos for multiple vendors who will build pieces of the ASTM E2307 and E119 test systems.
- Act as a single point of communication for all ASTM E2307 and E119 test system vendors
- Work with vendors to plan and maintain overall ASTM E2307 and E119 test system schedules for assembly and installation of the various components
- Support review of work on ASTM E2307 and E119 test systems being completed and validate approval with leader.
- Provide reporting on ASTM E2307 and E119 test system spend timing and progress to stakeholders.
DETAIL DESIGN SUPPORT (25%)
- Support ASTM E2307 and E119 test system process development
- Utilize hardware, software, and documentation tools to create JHA and SOP documents for ASTM E2307 and E119 test systems
- Aid in design of software and hardware for control of the ASTM E2307 and E119 test systems
- Develops streamlined process models for lab staff executing ASTM E2307 and E119 testing
- Reduce or eliminate human decision points and interaction with the ASTM E2307 and E119 testing processes as practical
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 Year College degree, ideally in Engineering or Science field
- Must be proficient in using a computer including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- Ability to repetitively lift objects up to 40 lbs and stand for a large portion of the day
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 2-3 years experience in industry is preferred
- Prior laboratory experience in ASTM/ISO/IEC/ANSI Thermal, Acoustic, or Fire testing helpful
- Experience with constructing, assembling, or producing equipment for a specific purpose
- Experience with CAD, 3D Printing, and/or programming preferred
