Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Location: Medway, MA 02053
Pay Rate: $22.00 – $23.00/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (flexible)
Duration: Approximately 3-month contract (potential for extension)
Department: Quality Control


Position Summary

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet established specifications and quality standards. This role involves performing inspections, testing, and audits throughout the production process to ensure compliance with customer and company requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections on a variety of parts and products

  • Conduct testing to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards

  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and pin gauges

  • Perform surface plate and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspections

  • Create and maintain inspection plans and documentation

  • Conduct random audits during production to verify adherence to specifications

  • Perform receiving inspections on vendor parts, materials, and services as required

  • Assist in calibration verification of inspection equipment and report discrepancies

  • Review inspection methods used by production teams and provide recommendations

  • Maintain accurate daily inspection logs and records

  • Train new employees on inspection procedures and equipment usage

  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality issues

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

  • Follow all company, departmental, and quality policies and procedures

  • Communicate job-related issues and updates to the Quality Supervisor

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of 1 year of technical training (including GD&T preferred)

  • At least 2 years of mechanical inspection experience in a close-tolerance machining environment preferred

  • Experience with hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and pin gauges

  • Knowledge of surface plate inspection and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)

  • Familiarity with ISO standards

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and inspection specifications

  • Basic computer skills and experience with manufacturing software systems

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds occasionally

  • Requires good vision (close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment)

  • Work environment includes both office and machine shop settings
