Kelly® Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a background in electronic design for a high-impact 12+ month contract opportunity supporting a global leader in automotive technology.
Overview:
Our client is a leading global supplier of in-vehicle infotainment, ADAS, and xEV solutions, focused on advancing engineering efficiency, traceability, and compliance.
This role will focus on capturing real-world electrical design and product development workflows and translating them into structured, scalable processes within the UL Stages platform. You will leverage your hands-on design background to ensure engineering workflows are practical, accurate, and aligned with how design teams actually operate.
You’ll act as a bridge between engineering, compliance, and process teams—driving consistency, improving documentation quality, and enabling better lifecycle management across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead implementation and configuration of UL Stages for engineering workflow and compliance tracking
- Capture and translate electrical design and product development workflows into structured processes
- Convert existing Excel-based processes and KPIs into standardized workflows within Stages
- Analyze current engineering processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Align and standardize workflows across engineering teams
- Develop and document best practices for lifecycle, certification, and compliance workflows
- Train engineering teams on tool usage, process adoption, and documentation standards
- Support integration of AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude) to enhance engineering workflows
- Ensure strong traceability, documentation quality, and regulatory compliance
- Troubleshoot and resolve system or workflow-related issues within Stages
Qualifications:
Must-Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Previous hands-on electronic design experience (required)
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Experience working within product development and lifecycle processes
- Strong understanding of how engineering work flows from concept through validation and release
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, manufacturing, etc.)
- Ability to translate real-world engineering work into structured processes and documentation
- Ability to operate independently and drive initiatives with minimal oversight
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with UL Stages or similar platforms (PLM, compliance, or workflow tools)
- Exposure to ASPICE/SPICE or similar traceability/compliance frameworks
- Experience in regulated industries (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.)
- Familiarity with AI tools applied to engineering workflows or process automation
- Experience with requirements or lifecycle tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Teamcenter, etc.)
