Optical Fabricator – West Henrietta, NY
Pay: $26.00 – $39.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

We’re seeking a detail-driven Optical Fabricator to join our team and play a key role in producing high-quality optical components. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in CNC machining and optical fabrication who takes pride in precision, accuracy, and craftsmanship.
What You’ll Do
- Generate precision optical curves using CNC equipment to meet exact tolerances
- Perform CNC centering operations for accurate alignment of optical components
- Hand bevel and block lenses in preparation for grinding and polishing
- Execute hand grinding, CNC polishing, and conventional polishing processes
- Conduct optical inspection and metrology to verify product specifications
- Maintain clean, organized workspaces and equipment to support quality and safety
- Plan and coordinate workflow across generation, blocking, grinding, and polishing
- Follow all safety, PPE, and cleanroom protocols
- Support continuous improvement efforts and assist with additional production needs
Equipment You’ll Work With
- CNC curve generators and centering machines
- Conventional and CNC polishing equipment
- Optical inspection and metrology tools (micrometers, interferometers, etc.)
- JDE MRP system and standard computer applications
- Cleanroom gear and personal protective equipment (PPE)
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 2+ years of optical fabrication or related experience
- Strong experience with CNC machining and precision measurement tools
- Ability to maintain tight tolerances and high accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with optical manufacturing processes and terminology
- Basic computer skills and experience with MRP systems preferred
