Pay rate: USD $ 17.00
Contract: 4 month -Temp to hire
Summary:
The Plant General Laborer plays a key role in supporting light manufacturing operations by performing fabrication, finishing, quality checks, general labor, and housekeeping duties. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, attention to safety and quality, and the ability to work collaboratively with all plant personnel. Positions are available for both day and night shifts.
Core Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and complete fabrication and finishing processes including cutting, shaping, sanding, assembling, coating, and finishing wood products using machinery, tools, and UV equipment
- Ensure product quality by verifying dimensions and inspecting materials for defects
- Assist with general labor duties, such as cleaning, painting, labeling, hauling pallets, and more
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and meet all safety and training requirements
- Assist machine operators with changeovers, setups, and shut-down operations as needed
- Relieve into other production roles as trained and assigned
- Keep equipment clean and maintained during down periods (non-maintenance tasks)
- Correctly complete all job assignments, including preventive maintenance assignments
Qualifications:
- Previous light manufacturing experience preferred
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with co-workers, plant staff, and management
- Ability to climb stairs, stand for 2–3 hours at a time, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Consistent and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Positions available on day and night shift crews
- Must be flexible for overtime and some weekend work as needed
- Primary work is indoors, with exposure to temperature changes based on season
