Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Lab Manager position at a Clinical Lab in the DFW area. The overall responsibility of the position is planning, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of all technical and/or operational activities and staff members in the lab. Qualified candidates must have both lab leadership experience along with Orchard / Clinisys LIS proficiency. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans, assigns, and directs work in the laboratory

  • Effectively maintains quality staffing through interviewing, hiring, and providing staff development

  • Mentors and supports 10-15 direct reports in their responsibilities

  • Identifies and implements training programs as needed

  • Monitors Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs and ensures quality procedures are followed

  • Oversees plans and preparations for inspections

  • Ensures departmental Standard Operating Procedures and database accurately reflects the current processes

  • Develops annual budget and manages department costs and resources budget

  • Resolves problems through interaction with clients

  • Defines, coordinates and monitors Environmental Health and Safety programs and ensures EHS regulatory standards and safety procedures are followed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Lab Technology or related discipline is required

  • Master’s degree is preferred

  • Minimum of 8 years of medical laboratory experience with at least 3 years of direct supervisory experience

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing supervisors and / or team leads

  • Must have Orchard / Clinisys Laboratory Information System (LIS) system software experience

  • Knowledge of CLIA / CAP regulations
