From the Desk of the Recruiter
I want to be direct so the right people apply.
Kelly Services is hiring for a short-term warehouse project in the Wheaton area, IL. This is a strong fit for someone with recent and real warehouse experience, steady attendance, and the ability to stay focused while doing repetitive physical warehouse work.
This is active work. You’ll be moving boxes, placing product where it belongs, organizing pallets, and helping the team complete the project accurately and safely. The best person for this role is steady, reliable, detail-focused, and comfortable doing the same type of task well without needing constant direction.
Kelly Services is also a second-chance employer, so if you have the right work ethic, recent warehouse experience, and can meet the screening requirements, we still encourage you to apply.
If you prove yourself during this assignment, Kelly Services is happy to keep strong workers in mind for longer-term, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire opportunities.
If you’re still reading and this sounds like your kind of work, let’s get into the details.

Job Details
Pay: $16.50–$17.50/hr
Location: Wheaton area, IL
Assignment Length: Approximately 5–8 weeks
Position Type: Temporary project through Kelly Services
Breaks: Two 15-minute breaks + one 30-minute lunch
Shoes: Closed-toe shoes required; steel-toed shoes are not required
Possible Extension / Hire-On: A small number of strong workers may be considered based on attendance, performance, and business need
What You’ll Do
Move boxes, product, and materials throughout the warehouse
Pick up and carry boxes close to your body using safe lifting form
Place product back into racks or designated storage areas
Build, organize, and stage pallets as needed
Keep your work area clean, safe, and organized
Follow supervisor instructions and site safety expectations
Use the site time clock to record hours accurately
Stay productive throughout the shift in an active warehouse environment
This work is repetitive and physical. You may be moving around the warehouse most of the day. You should be comfortable lifting, bending, walking, carrying boxes, and staying focused for the full shift.
What I’m Looking For
1.5–2+ years of recent warehouse, fulfillment, palletizing, shipping/receiving, stocking, or warehouse project experience preferred
No major recent work gaps preferred; no gaps over 60 days is strongly preferred
Strong attendance and reliability
Comfortable with repetitive warehouse work
Able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move product throughout the shift
Able to lift and carry boxes safely using proper form
Able to follow directions and work steadily with a team
Able to commit to the full 5–8 week project
Strong attention to detail and ability to stay consistent
This IS NOT a highly interactive customer facing, glamorous job. This is best for someone with true warehouse experience; someone who likes staying busy, following process, and getting the work done right.
What to Be Ready For
You should be ready to:
Stay on your feet most of the shift
Move boxes and product consistently
Lift and carry boxes close to the body
Bend with your knees and keep your back straight when lifting
Help build, organize, and stage pallets
Work at a steady pace
Follow instructions closely
Show up on time for every scheduled shift
You may be moving roughly 8–12 boxes per hour, depending on project flow and assignment area. Speed matters, but accuracy and safety matter more.
Attendance Expectations
Because this is a short 5–8 week project, attendance needs to be strong.
You should not accept this assignment if you already know you will miss days or arrive late. If you have known time off, tell us before starting so we can review it up front.
(Assignment will end early for even 1-day missed due to it’s short term)
For this project, reliability matters every day.
Why This Role Stands Out
Short-term project work with weekly pay
Daytime schedule options
Good way to build recent warehouse experience
Possible extension based on project needs
No steel-toe requirement
Strong fit for dependable warehouse workers who want to stay active and get started quickly
Pre-Employment Process
— 5–10 minute phone screen
— Onsite tour + 5-panel oral swab drug screen at the warehouse location; about 20 minutes total (No THC tested)
— Background check, including county criminal check and Social Security verification
Once cleared, you can start quickly.
