Buyer, Temporary Procurement Opportunity
Overview
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Roanoke, TX, is seeking an experienced Buyer for a temporary opportunity that may continue through the end of the year. This role is ideal for someone with strong procurement experience, advanced SAP knowledge, and the ability to take ownership in a fast-paced purchasing environment.
The Buyer will support procurement activities including purchase orders, supplier communication, quote review, purchasing documentation, and resolution of receiving or invoicing discrepancies. The client is looking for someone who is highly SAP-savvy, comfortable working in Excel, and able to problem-solve while supporting internal teams and suppliers. SAP S/4HANA experience is strongly preferred. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, would be ideal.
Pay
$45.00 per hour
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Must be flexible. Overtime is common based on business needs.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Reviewing approved requisitions, creating purchase orders, and managing the purchase order lifecycle from creation through closing
- Working with suppliers to obtain quotes and evaluate pricing, delivery schedules, and other key purchasing details
- Maintaining communication with suppliers and internal teams to help resolve quality, delivery, receiving, invoicing, and purchasing concerns
- Performing purchase order history research to support resolution of receiving and invoice discrepancies
- Supporting internal customers with purchasing policies, purchasing processes, supplier sourcing, and SAP purchasing requirements
- Using SAP regularly to manage purchasing activity, research information, and support procurement workflows
- Using Excel to organize, review, and analyze purchasing information, with pivot table and VLOOKUP experience considered highly valuable
- Helping improve purchasing operations through strong communication, process support, and best practices
- Reviewing supplier information for compliance with company quality expectations
- Managing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Taking ownership of assigned work, identifying issues, and helping drive solutions
Why You’d Be a Good Fit
- You have strong procurement or buyer experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- You are highly comfortable working in SAP and can navigate purchasing processes with confidence
- You have SAP S/4HANA experience or exposure, which is strongly preferred
- You have advanced Excel skills, ideally including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- You can manage purchase orders, supplier communication, quote review, and discrepancy resolution
- You are organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities at once
- You have a strong sense of ownership and follow through on assigned work
- You are a proactive problem solver who can take initiative and go above and beyond to support the team
- You communicate clearly with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional partners
- You are flexible and comfortable with overtime as business needs require
