Lift Truck Operator – Temp-to-Hire | Kalamazoo, MI
Kelly Services is seeking two motivated Lift Truck Operators for temp-to-hire opportunities with a respected company in Kalamazoo. If you have previous forklift experience and are looking for a role where you can contribute and grow, we encourage you to apply.
Schedule & Compensation:
- 3rd shift, 7pm–3am
- 3rd shift with rotating schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (12-hour shift: 5:20pm–5:30am)
- Pay: $21.06 per hour
Job Overview: As a Lift Truck Operator, you will:
- Perform forklift duties, supplying production lines with materials and packaging, and removing finished products
- Utilize warehouse management systems for inventory and workflow operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload, receive, and stage packing and regrind trailers for transfers
- Move regrind and virgin materials to and from production lines
- Create and store Hus
- Ensure the correct packaging is supplied to production
- Operate trash tippers and stretch wrappers
- Drain railcars as needed
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Technical and Soft Skills Required:
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities within cross-functional teams
- Commitment to safety; follow all company safety protocols
- Maintain ISO-compliant processes and workspace organization
- Operate motorized and peripheral equipment efficiently
- Manage inventory, including counting, weighing, and recording materials
- Use ERP or related systems for accurate data entry
- Self-motivated and able to prioritize and organize tasks independently
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic math and computer skills
- Valid forklift certification/license
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs (will require passing a pre-employment test)
