Position Overview: As a Project Design Engineer, you’ll be the technical leader of project teams designing innovative water treatment products and systems. You’ll collaborate closely with sales, procurement, manufacturing, and outside partners, ensuring robust solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and analyze complex customer specifications and requirements.
- Develop process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and equipment/instrumentation schedules using AutoCAD and industry-standard practices.
- Produce general arrangement and fabrication drawings for projects requiring modifications or custom solutions using Autodesk Inventor. Develop detailed bills of material.
- Lead project schedules and design handover packages for complex jobs, ensuring projects meet key milestones.
- Review drawings and bills of materials for accuracy and manufacturability.
- Understand and comply with regulatory requirements where applicable.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Contribute to standardized documentation and design guides.
- Participate in occasional product development assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical preferred, but all disciplines considered)
- Ability to perform engineering calculations (pump sizing, flow velocity, etc.)
- Experience with 3-D modeling (Inventor or similar) required
- 1–5 years of design engineering experience preferred, but motivated new grads are welcome
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive approach to problem-solving
- Prior experience with water treatment equipment a plus, but not required
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Occasional travel may be required
