Job Title: Forklift Operator II
Location: Rincon, GA 31326
Shift: 1st Shift 7:00AM – 3:30PM (must be available to work OT if needed)
Pay rate: Rate: $20.50 per hour
Candidates MUST have hands-on experience operating all of the following equipment:
- Sit-down forklift
- Stand-up forklift
- Clamp truck
- Cherry picker
- Reach truck
Position Summary
The Forklift Operator II is responsible for safely and efficiently operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within a warehouse distribution environment.
This role requires experience operating multiple types of forklifts and the ability to work in a rack warehouse setting. The operator may also perform order filling and order checking duties. At least 50% of work time must be spent operating powered industrial equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down, stand-up, clamp, cherry picker, and/or reach trucks (minimum 50% of work time).
- Stack and store merchandise in designated warehouse locations.
- Safely unload inbound shipments and transport products to storage areas.
- Pull, stage, and prepare products accurately for outbound shipments.
- Verify product quantity and type prior to shipment.
- Perform order picking efficiently while meeting productivity and service standards.
- Move products between staging, storage, and trailers.
- Follow all safety procedures and prescribed work methods when operating equipment.
- Complete equipment inspection forms prior to operation.
- Use RF scanning equipment to ensure accurate inventory tracking.
- Maintain records to support inventory control and security.
- Assist with physical inventory and cycle count activities.
- Ensure proper stock rotation.
- Report inventory discrepancies and assist with resolution.
- Communicate safety concerns to management in a timely manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year forklift and warehouse equipment experience.
- Certification required on at least three (3) types of forklift equipment.
- Experience operating in a rack warehouse environment preferred.
- Ability to operate sit-down, stand-up, clamp, cherry picker, and reach equipment.
- Basic Excel and general computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math and customer service skills.
- Understanding of safe equipment operation practices.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for 10–12 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs without restriction.
- Frequent bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching above and below the waist.
- Ability to walk long distances within a large distribution center (facilities may exceed a quarter mile in length).
- Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels, lighting, and temperature conditions.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility without limitations.
- Must be available to work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
