Timekeeping Clerk – UKG KRONOS (Weekly Payroll)
Schedule: Monday–Friday 8am-5pm
Pay Rate: $30+ DOE
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Timekeeping Clerk to support accurate weekly payroll processing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for auditing employee timecards, resolving payroll discrepancies, tracking correction requests, running payroll reports, and supporting final payroll sign-off activities for both union and non-union employees.
The ideal candidate will have prior payroll or timekeeping experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively under strict payroll deadlines. Experience with UKG Kronos is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and weekly audits of employee timecards for accuracy and policy compliance
- Identify and resolve missed punches, overtime discrepancies, pay code issues, shift differentials, and labor transfer errors
- Run and analyze payroll/timekeeping reports including exceptions, accruals, overtime, and audit logs
- Create, route, and track correction tickets to ensure timely payroll resolution
- Partner with supervisors, HR, and Payroll teams to validate approvals and corrections
- Support weekly payroll close and complete final payroll audits/sign-offs
- Maintain accurate documentation of payroll adjustments and approvals
- Assist employees and supervisors with timekeeping procedures and payroll-related questions
- Escalate recurring payroll or compliance concerns to HR/Payroll leadership
- Recommend process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of payroll and/or timekeeping experience required
- Experience supporting weekly payroll in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Experience working with both union and non-union employee populations
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills including filters, lookups, and pivot tables preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee and payroll information
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with UKG Kronos (Workforce Central and/or UKG Dimensions)
- Familiarity with manufacturing payroll practices including shift premiums, overtime, holiday pay, and labor allocation
- Knowledge of payroll audit controls and documentation processes
Work Environment
- On-site manufacturing/plant office environment
- Occasional overtime may be required during payroll close periods, holidays, or special payroll events
