Sanitation Associate
Pay Rate: $23/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM; Saturday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (hours subject to business needs)
Requirements: Steel-toe boots required

Position Overview
This is a physically demanding, detail-oriented sanitation role focused on deep cleaning and sanitizing production equipment in a food manufacturing environment. The position involves disassembling and thoroughly cleaning equipment used to transport food products, ensuring compliance with strict quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble food processing equipment, including large kettles and piping systems
• Perform deep cleaning of kettles (comparable in size to hot tubs) using manual scrubbing, chemicals, and power washing equipment
• Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) to ensure thorough cleaning and compliance
• Use appropriate cleaning chemicals safely, adhering to dilution guidelines and safety standards
• Operate Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems and perform tasks such as milk silo cleaning
• Complete sanitation within required timeframes (approximately 60–75 minutes once fully trained)
• Maintain accurate sanitation logs, daily reports, and required documentation
• Work closely with Quality Assurance teams, who inspect and verify cleanliness using testing procedures
• Provide support and cross-coverage for other departments as needed
• Assist in training and guiding new sanitation team members when applicable

Qualifications & Skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including sanitation procedures and safety protocols
• Knowledge of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and chemical safety guidelines
• Mechanically inclined with ability to dismantle and reassemble equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
• Ability to stand for entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to work in wet, hot, and cold environments
• Exposure to noise typical of a production environment
• Use of PPE including protective boots, gloves, and sanitation gear required
• Must be fluent in reading and writing in English or Spanish for safety purposes
