Engineering Lab Technician
Sunnyvale, CA | Fully Onsite
Contract | $30–$35/hr DOE
Kelly Engineering is seeking an Engineering Lab Technician to support a leading medical device and diagnostics company in Sunnyvale, CA. This is a hands-on engineering support role focused on hardware testing, troubleshooting, reliability testing, and data analysis within a fast-paced lab environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or junior-level candidate looking to gain experience supporting cutting-edge diagnostic instrumentation and engineering systems.
Responsibilities:
• Perform hands-on testing of electromechanical, optical, and hardware systems
• Support verification, validation, and reliability testing activities
• Assist with troubleshooting and root cause investigations
• Collect, log, and analyze testing data
• Create or support basic scripts for data analysis and reporting
• Work closely with engineering teams to execute testing activities efficiently
• Support instrument and systems testing in a laboratory environment
• Assist with running multiple tests and documenting results
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Bioengineering, Materials Science, or related technical field preferred
• Internship, lab, academic project, or hands-on technical experience preferred
• Experience with testing, troubleshooting, or laboratory equipment
• Basic exposure to Python, Matlab, or scripting preferred
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a hands-on lab environment
• Reliability testing experience is a plus (ALT, HALT, HTHH)
• Instrumentation or systems testing experience is highly preferred
Additional Information:
• Fully onsite in Sunnyvale, CA
• Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
• 6-month contract opportunity with potential extension based on business needs
