This role requires expertise in construction standards, collaboration with leading civil engineering firms, and developing innovative, cost-effective installation strategies. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to create code-compliant site layouts that meet customer requirements while reducing installation costs and supporting efficient fuel cell system integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize site layouts for fuel cell system installations, including equipment placement, power distribution, and supporting infrastructure. Ensure designs are scalable, safe, space-efficient, and tailored to customer requirements.

  • Partner directly with customers to understand site constraints, operational needs, and energy requirements. Develop customized, code-compliant layouts that balance performance, constructability, and cost efficiency.

  • Ensure all site designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and building codes, including NFPA, OSHA, IEC, zoning, and permitting requirements.

  • Integrate fuel cell systems with existing infrastructure, including electrical distribution, backup power, cooling systems, gas/hydrogen supply, drainage, and utility interfaces. Optimize layouts for maintainability, uptime, safety, crane access, noise setbacks, and future expansion.

  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate environmental conditions, infrastructure, and installation feasibility. Provide recommendations for grading, utility connections, foundations, and site preparation requirements.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, permitting packages, construction drawings, and customer reports to support project execution and stakeholder alignment.

What You’ll Need:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with customer-facing roles and understanding customer requirements for energy systems is essential.

  • Strong understanding of construction standards, regulations, and codes.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for creating site layouts and construction drawings.

  • Experience with structural, mechanical integration on site power generation.

  • Knowledge of power distribution systems, backup power, and energy storage solutions as they relate to fuel cell systems

  • Ability for occasional travel to customer sites for site surveys, project coordination, and construction oversight.
