About the Opportunity
Join a rapidly growing clinical-stage biotech in Houston transforming the landscape of gene therapy for rare neurological diseases. Our team is dedicated to developing innovative genetic medicines and solutions that overcome the challenges of conventional gene therapy, supported by an integrated research-to-clinic manufacturing facility.

Position Summary
As an Associate Scientist in Analytical Development, you will be instrumental in supporting the development and execution of analytical methods that drive our pioneering gene therapy programs forward. Working under the guidance of a senior team member, you’ll help advance the pipeline by developing cell-based potency assays, running routine sample testing, and ensuring process alignment from development through to manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on assay development, including cell- and protein-based potency testing, qPCR, and ELISA to support late-stage product development.

  • Conduct in-process monitoring and stability testing of gene therapy products under GxP guidelines.

  • Contribute to daily lab operations, including preparation of reagents, inventory control, and maintaining a safe, compliant workplace.

  • Accurately document data, maintain lab records, and communicate findings clearly within cross-functional teams.

  • Interface with departments such as Process Development and Quality Control to support method transfer and project success.

  • Fulfill additional duties as required in a dynamic biotech environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or related field.

  • At least one year of academic or industry laboratory experience.

  • Proficiency in basic bioprocessing and laboratory assay techniques; prior cell culture and protein assay experience preferred.

  • Excellent documentation, communication, and teamwork skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative culture.

  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, with high attention to detail.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and digital lab documentation.
