Member Service Representative I

Job Summary:
Are you passionate about providing exceptional service and support to members? Join our team as a Member Service Representative at a local credit union. In this role, you will deliver friendly and accurate service, assisting members with routine transactions and inquiries while promoting our credit union products and services. Job Specifications:
– Job Type: Full-Time, Contract to hire
Schedule: 8:45AM-5:15PM, Monday-Friday (no weekends)
– Location: Rockford, MI
– Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
– Shift: Day Shift

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform member transactions accurately using the CBX system.

  • Respond to members’ questions, concerns, and requests for assistance in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Provide information on credit union products and services, including loans, business accounts, and fiduciary accounts.

  •  Process members check and maintain a cash drawer or pod, accurately balancing funds throughout the workday.

  • Handle member transaction requests, such as credit card advances, money orders, and cashier’s checks, following credit union procedures.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to research and resolve member issues efficiently.

  • Provide frontline support at other branch locations as needed.

  • Participate in community events to enhance the organization’s public presence.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a financial institution or related field.

  • High school education or GED required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective conflict resolution and relationship building.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Basic mathematical skills and proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Time management and multitasking skills.

  • Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds occasionally and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
