Material Handler – Production Assistant (2nd Shift)
Location:
Newville, PA 17241
Hours: Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable Material Handler – Production Assistant to support our digital printing operations on the 2nd shift. The Production Assistant operates bindery equipment, manages material handling duties, and supports shipping outbound operations. This role contributes to customer satisfaction by ensuring timely, high-quality production and adherence to workflow and quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate automated and manual bindery equipment to produce documents per customer specifications
- Perform outbound logistics: quality checks, boxing, packaging, and labeling of orders
- Read and interpret job tickets, with emphasis on bindery, finishing, and large format printing
- Scan all work in the order management system to ensure process accountability
- Maintain quality standards in compliance with client policies
- Report machine breakdowns and maintenance needs
- Perform routine machine maintenance and equipment calibration
- Support Production Specialists with material replenishment, offloading outputs, and general cleanup
- Complete additional duties as assigned by Shift Operations Lead or Management
Requirements:
- Ability to follow instructions and learn multiple aspects of production
- Strong workflow management and attention to detail
- Reliable attendance—strict maximum of 0.5 attendance points allowed during a 10-day probation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic organizational and communication skills
